Leading: From Start to Finish

Real leadership can come only when you are ready, willing and able, to do so, in the most thorough, and comprehensive manner! Short cuts do not work in the long-term. You must, proceed in a focused way, and become a real leader, from start to FINISH!
Never assume any position of leadership, until/ unless, you are ready, willing and able, to do so, in the most thorough, and comprehensive manner! Don't look for some, short - cut, or, path, of least resistance, but, realize, you must, proceed in a focused way, and become a real leader, from start, to FINISH! This means, begin with learning and discovering, your group's strengths and weaknesses, and use areas, where you and the organization, may be strong, to your benefit, while, objectively, addressing weaknesses, so your group, flourishes! With this in mind, this article, will briefly examine, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, both, why this is important/ significant, and how to effectively proceed.
  1. Face facts; figure: Will you be willing to proceed, with a commitment to, objective introspection, so you might realistically, objectively, face the facts, without prejudice, and, with an open - mind? When this is the initial mindset, you will position yourself, to figure out, the best way, to proceed?

  2. Integrity; instill; install: Commit to maintaining absolute integrity, and doing, what's in the best interest, of your group! When you focus on the bigger - picture, you will become capable of instilling confidence, and commitment! A well - developed plan, positions you, to install, a strategic and action plan, which serves your organization, effectively and efficiently!

  3. Needs: Meaningful leadership must begin, with identifying priorities, concerns and needs, and perceiving and conceiving of, creating, developing and implementing, the best possible course of action! Will you have the strength of character, to prioritize doing so, and putting your constituents, and organization, ahead of your self - interest, and/ or personal agenda?

  4. Imagination; impact: Don't limit your possibilities, by permitting the limits of your comfort zone, determine your course of action! Utilize the quality imagination, which identifies alternatives, and considers, with an open - mind, which might be best! Always consider how your selection, might impact others and the group, and realize, there are always ramifications, to any actions, and/ or procrastination!

  5. Sustainable system; service; stronger: How, and why, will the direction, you choose, make your group, stronger, and more relevant? Will you emphasize relevant service, focusing on perceiving and conceiving of, creating, developing and implementing, the best possible, sustainable system? True leadership, consistently, emphasizes, and focuses on service!

  6. Healing; head/ heart: Shouldn't the objective of leading, be healing wounds and divisions, and utilizing the best logical, and emotional procedures, etc, in a head/ heart, balance?
Obviously, one can't achieve, unless/ until, he starts, in a well - considered, focused way! However, all the best intentions and hopes, don't get things done, unless, you take the ideas, to fruition, and FINISH, what you start!
