The Differences of a Pessimist and an Optimist

by Alex Ryan
There are two different types of people in this world. One - who like to think the best of any given situation, namely the optimists. Two - who always find the worst out of every situation, namely the pessimists. It is entirely our own choice as to which person we are.
It is common knowledge that there are two different types of people in this world. There are those who like to think the best of any given situation, namely the optimists. Then there are those who always find the worst out of every situation, namely the pessimists. It is entirely our own choice as to which person we are.

I know that whenever I come up against a challenge, no matter what the circumstances may look like, I have to decide which person I am going to be to deal with it. Do I look at the positives? Or do I look at it negatively? Sometimes I have to remember a little quote that often helps me in these situations.

You have to assume that everything will turn out fine unless it is proven not to be so.

I am a believer that if you always try to find the horrible outcomes to situations then unfortunately that is exactly what you will get in life. Negative thinking often begets negative outcomes unfortunately.

You always end up in life with what you spend most of your energies and time thinking about. If this statement is actual fact then why on Earth would we spend so much time thinking of horrible outcomes? Our time would be much better spent thinking of the happier outcomes.

Obviously this is not going to happen every time we have positive thoughts about things. That is just a part of life and we have to realize that fact. Things do go occasionally wrong for all of us. No matter how lucky you may think some people happen to be, I can assure you that they, too, are dealt their share of struggles. This is something that is virtually synonymous with life itself, and we must do all that we possibly can do try to keep our heads up if we're ever dealt an ominous blow in life.

Moaning about how many things go wrong all the time will get you nowhere fast and just leave you in the doldrums more often than not. You have got to bite the bullet and slowly things will start to get better. Time heals all, as the saying goes. This may sound like a cliche but it's an absolutely true one.

You cannot waste your time thinking about the negative things in life. Once you start to think a bit more positive you will be on the right track to get where you want to be.
